Bokanjac is a village with a population of 900 at an altitude of 3 meters above sea-level in the vicinity of Zadar, now its constitutive part, situated on the Bokanjicko Blato Lake. This old settlement is first mentioned as a parish in 1349. The parish church of St. Simun and St. Tadej was built in 1623. Apart from the agriculture, the inhabitants engage themselves in hunting poisons snakes used for production of the serum against snake-bite. | |
