Cista Provo is a place with 680 inhabitants at an elevation of 260 meters above sea-level on the Imotski-Sinj road Cista Velika is 5 km from here and has over 1500 inhabitants. Cista Velika and Cista Provo share the common name Cista.
The most impressive feature of Cista Provo is the huge ship-shaped house. The parish church of St. Jakov was built in 1885. Apart from the local antique and medieval monuments, there are 168 Bogomil tomb stones ornamented with images of hunting, games and stylized flower patterns. Quality tobacco and the most fruitful Croatian species of vine "kojundusa" are grown here. Local roads lead to Arzano and Sestanovac. There is a health institution and several inns in Cista Provo.
