Dalvay sits at the eastern entrance of the Prince Edward Island National Park on the north shore of the island, and is a National Historic Site of Canada because of the Dalvay-by-the-Sea Hotel you’ll find there. This magnificent Victorian-style hotel happens to be the only seaside hotel on Prince Edward Island and was originally built in 1896 to serve as the summer cottage for the wealthy American oil magnate, Alexander Macdonald. The home has operated as a hotel since 1959 and is particular popular among visitors because it has been featured in the Anne of Green Gables movies. |
