Ile Bonaventure Travel Guide

Bonaventure is a popular tourist island just a little more than four square kilometers that is located across from the town of Percé in the Gaspé peninsula. The island is a bird sanctuary,[1] where different species of seabirds nest. The colony of gannets totals more than 50,000, making it one of the largest gannet colonies in the world.[2] You’ll also find several other bird species like cormorants, puffins, and murres who make the island their home and breeding ground.[3] If you visit the island, don’t forget to bring a pair of walking shoes, a hat, and some binoculars.[4]
