Indiana
Lots to do in Indiana Phil says 14 years ago |
There are a ton of things to do in Indiana but travel sites seem to have a hard time finding information for their websites. Indianapolis would obviously have most of the typical city things to do but outside of the city, Indiana has some fantastic and unique sites. The southern part of the state can be fairly hilly, and the closer you get to the Ohio river the more hilly the terrain becomes. You'll find caves, wineries, canoe trips, etc... If you can check out West Badin Springs, the resort there is an amazing architectural feat. Columbus Indiana is also very architecturally unique and some have labeled it the 4th most architecturally unique city in the USA, do some Google searching to learn why. :-) The Amish communities are also great places to explore a different culture. Nappanee and Shipshewana in Northern Indiana offer some great insight into this community. In the North western part of the state you'll have ocean-like scenes as you explore the Lake Michigan region. The Dunes are a Nationally protected site and worth a visit. I could go on - do some exploring and you'll find there is more than corn in Indiana. |
