Kolocep is an island with two villages: Gornje (Upper) and Donje (Lower) village with a population of 148 at an elevation of 97 meters and situated near Dubrovnik. Once you arrive to Kolocep, you'll automatically get the sense of a small, rustic, solitude place where much of the commercialization hasn't touched a single thing. The locals bacially know each other by name and share a strong town bond; families have known other families in this area for centuries where they're grandparents knew the other families grandparents.
Kolocep is also famous for the corrals which are dived here. Kolocep is rich with historical rarities. There are several old ruined churches here. If you want to visit a non major touristy area where you feel time had forgotten about, check out Kolocep. |
