Mount Orford is an attractive ski resort town in the Eastern Township or Estrie region of Quebec. It is situated beside Lake Memphremagog where the local vineyard, Le Cep d’Argent, is open to the public. The resort town holds a summer music festival every year – a time of year when visitors flock to the national park to try their hand at Mount Orford’s golf course.
Mount Orford is only a few minutes away from the town of Magog and about an hour away from Montreal. The ski resort has three mountain summits: Mont Orford, Mont Giroux, and Mont Alfred Desrochers. The main summit is of course Orford, which has a hybrid chairlift or Telemix that features a single cable that lifts both an eight-person gondola and a six-person chair – a rarity in North American ski destinations. |
