Muc consists of two settlements, Donji (Lower) and Gornji (Upper) Muc on the Klis -Dmis road. This was once the Roman town of Gabiniona, with the road which connected it to Salona, the hinterland settlements of Dalmatinska za-gora to Citluk near Sinj and to Nerona in the region of the lower flow of Nere-tva. A fragment of the church wall bearing the year 888 and the name of the Croatian viceroy Branimir has been excavated in Gornji Muc in the year 1872. The church of the Infant Lady was built here in 1890, and the church of Peter the Apostle in 1762.
