Skid Row in Downtown LA is the congregation of the city’s homeless population, which numbers somewhere around 100,000. It is located south of Little Tokyo stretching past Seventh Street. Its most seediest section is the intersection between San Pedro and Fifth Street, nicknamed the “Nickel”. This part of LA is best avoided unless you are looking for a brave adventure.[1]
Attractions
Union Rescue Mission The only attraction in Skid Row is the Union Rescue Mission at 543 S. San Pedro Street, notable because it provides a close-up, first-hand look at LA’s dispossessed.[2]
