The museum has a working print shop, a working blacksmith shop, and marine, household and farm exhibits among other attractions. There are "please touch" exhibits for the young and the young at heart. It has both a sizable collection of horse-drawn carriages and four horseless carriages, including a Model T Depot Hack and a Model A complete with running boards and rumble seat . Both cars work. There's also a working farm four sheep, two goats and a large flock of Rhode Island Reds, the official state bird. Anyone interested in how people worked and life in rural Rhode Island in the 19th and early 20th centuries could easily spend a couple of hours here. |
