Sutivan is a tourist place and a small harbor with a population of 640 in the north of island of Brae. It has the industry for processing of plastic. The settlement developed in the 15C. The church of St John was built in 1579, and the Marjanovic citadel in 1777. The house of Definus holds the collection of artwork. The Baroque summer residence of the famous poet Jeronim Kavanjin, known for its beautiful park, is now turned into a hotel. It is well-connected to the 13 km distant Split, which can be easily reached by boat. Sutivan with its fascinating beaches and thick pine forests is the favorite excursion destination of the people of Split. There are several inns and stores in the place.
